Even though our box is temporarily closed because of COVID-19 and shelter in place guidance, JR CrossFit athletes are staying active and connected with at-home workouts and Zoom. Here’s a quick look at everything we’re doing…
Coach Matt is programming not only one at-home workout per day, but TWO. This means everyone has two options to pick from everyday: a workout that requires equipment and one that does not require equipment. We’ve loaned out equipment such as dumbbells, boxes, kettlebells, and more.
And don’t think we’re all sandbagging the workouts just because we’re doing them from home. In fact, some of our athletes are really taking things to the next level. Donnie Wells is tacking on 1-mile runs to the end of the workouts, while others are adding on extra rounds, new challenges and twists, and much more.
As we explained in our coronavirus contingency plan, we’re still holding all of our normal classes throughout the shelter in place shutdown — but instead of everyone coming to the box, we’re doing it all through Zoom. Yes, that’s right: our members are staying connected and active from home, with group video chats five times per day. Not only is a great way for us to stay connected, but it’s also a great form of accountability.
Our Zoom classes have been a major hit so far, and we love seeing everyone “in the Zoom” working out together from home. We even held a Zoom “Happy Hour” this past week so everyone could hang out and catch up despite all of the craziness in the world.

New clients too!
And if you’re thinking about joining JR CrossFit, or know someone else who’s considering it, we’re still taking in new athletes! We can complete everything over Zoom, including your No Sweat Introduction, Elements classes, and anything else you might need.

JR CrossFit Community
With so much uncertainty and fear in the world right now, the JR CrossFit community has truly banded together to stay active and stay connected, while continuing to support a local Waco business. We love seeing our athletes everyday via Zoom and Facebook, and it serves as a much-needed distraction during the shelter in place guidance.
