1. When did you start CrossFit and why?
I started CrossFit about 4.5 years ago after trying multiple different styles and types of exercise. The why is a big one for me. After finishing Nursing school, I was about 40 lbs overweight and in terrible shape from following a terrible diet and just not being conscientious about staying active.
2. What’s your favorite thing about coaching?
I love helping our people be able to live healthy and active lives free of pain and stiffness so they can enjoy life with children and grandchildren.
3. How do your Nutrition Certificates benefit our community?
I have a Macronutrients Certificate from Wageningen University. It’s a program that teaches the importance of proper diet, the breakdown of Macronutrients, proper Macronutrient portioning, and how to write nutrition programming for all persons from obese populations to endurance athletes. On a side note, I absolutely love talking nutrition. It drives my wifey crazy because I really go overboard sometimes..!!
4. Tell us something most people don’t know about you?
Well, I am a huge chips and salsa fanatic. I will literally not stop eating until it disappears. So if you take me out to eat and chips and salsa are on the table, you won’t get to eat much..!! .:Insert Cookie Monster gif here:. Yup! That’s me!!!
