We all have those weeks where we struggle to make it to the box for one reason or another. Whether we’re having a busy week at work or just don’t feel motivated, we’ve all been there before. But did you know that you can get your workouts in over the weekend as well?
JR CrossFit offers four different weekend classes to help you get some extra work in, make up for classes you missed during the week, and keep making progress towards you fitness goals.
JR Barbell Club
If you like weights, lifting, and accessory work, JR Barbell Club is for you. Every Saturday at 9AM, we spend an hour focusing on barbell technique, knowledge, and more.
JR Barbell Club is the perfect opportunity to improve your lifting performance, perfect your form, and try lifts that you might not get to try during the week. The purpose of Barbell Club is continued improvements and progressions, with a focus on targeting specific muscle groups and building strength.
Whether you’ve got years of experiencing lifting, or are just starting out, Barbell Club can help you take things go the next level in strength training, technique, and more.
The JR CrossFit Community Workout is one of the highlights of my week. At 10AM every Saturday, we encourage you to bring a friend to the box for our completely free Community WOD.
The Community WOD is typically lighter than what you might do during the week, and as always, it’s fully scalable to any fitness level. It’s a great opportunity to introduce someone to CrossFit and show them what we do each and every day at JR CrossFit.
At JR CrossFit, we put an emphasis on the community of our box, and the Community WOD is the perfect example of that. The Community WOD allows meet new people, spend time with your box family, and bring a friend, all while getting in a workout that’s scalable, challenging, and fun.
JR Endurance Club
The fun continues every Sunday at 1:30PM with JR Endurance Club. Do you love rowing? Are you looking to improve your endurance and work on your aerobic fitness? Endurance Club is the perfect opportunity for that and more.
At Endurance Club, we do a slightly longer workout with an emphasis on rowing, but there’s almost always an added twist. Rowing is a full-body workout that exercises every major muscle group, improves your aerobic fitness and core strength, and more.
JR Endurance Club workouts often include things like rowing, wall balls, box jumps, biking, and more. Mix some of that with rowing, and you’ve got quite a workout. It’s all designed to improve your performance in longer workouts, burn calories, and work almost every muscle in your body. And like everything we do at JR, it’s fully scalable to any fitness level.
Mobility with Coach Haylie
Last but not least is the JR Mobility Class with the wonderful Coach Haylie. Mobility Class is held once a month, immediately following Endurance Club at 2:30PM on Sundays.
If you’re feeling a little beat up, or have a specific muscle group that is bothering you, the JR Mobility Class is perfect you. Coach Haylie programs a detailed class each month, focused on a specific part of your body. Last month, we emphasized hips and ankles, and did a variety of stretches designed to improve our hip and ankle mobility, followed by a short workout with accessories.
I’ve found Mobility Class to be extremely helpful in improving my hips, ankles, shoulders, and more. Mobility is extremely important in performance during workouts, and there’s always room for improvement. Mobility Class helps you tap into those muscles to improve flexibility, strength, and more.
There’s something for everyone!
For me, JR CrossFit’s weekend classes have been a great opportunity to meet new people and workout with people who I don’t see during the week at 5AM. The weekend classes give you added opportunities to get your workouts in if you miss a day during the week. And, with four different classes and times to choose from every week, there’s sure to be something for you.
Weekends are often where we regress in diet and fitness, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Whether you’re looking to improve your barbell performance or endurance, introduce someone new to CrossFit, or focus on mobility, JR CrossFit’s weekend classes are perfect for you.
